About the job

Taxkey is a specialist tax advisory practice delivering market leading tax advisory services to a diverse range of clients. Our remote-first model is a deliberate choice, enabling our team to focus on in-depth advisory work and manage their time effectively.

We are not a general practice. We deliver high-quality, practical tax advice across all tax heads, particularly in corporate restructuring, succession planning, retirement planning, property transactions and Revenue interventions. We act as the technical tax partner to accountants, solicitors and financial advisors, and advise private clients and SMEs directly.

We invest in innovative systems and software to streamline how we work. That means less time on administration and more time on advising our clients.

Our mission is to bring clarity to every tax decision, so our clients can act with confidence and direction. Three principles guide us:

  • Client-focused service

  • Meaningful work-life balance for our team

  • Innovating to be tax leaders

We are recruiting an ambitious Chartered Tax Consultant who wants to build real advisory expertise in a collaborative, high-trust environment. This opportunity is open to candidates at varying levels of expertise and experience. The scope of the role will reflect relevant experience and technical depth.

What will the role involve?

This is a predominantly advisory role with limited compliance work. Depending on experience and level, you will:

  • Lead and deliver tax consultancy assignments across all tax heads (personal taxes, capital taxes, VAT and more) for private clients and SMEs,

  • Advise on business succession, company reconstructions, VAT on property, estate planning, share disposals and reorganisations, and Revenue interventions,

  • Research and interpret Irish tax legislation, case law and Revenue guidance to develop practical client solutions

  • Build strong client relationships as a trusted advisor, and lead client consultations as you progress

  • Collaborate with accountants, legal advisors and other professionals to deliver integrated solutions

  • Represent Taxkey in meetings with clients, Revenue and other professional advisers

  • Deliver on tax compliance work

  • Work within our technology-enabled practice, helping to shape and refine the workflows that support quality and efficiency as the firm grows

  • Contribute to the technical knowledge of the firm and, at senior level, mentor and review the work of colleagues.

Candidate profile

  • Qualified Chartered Tax Advisor (AITI CTA)

  • 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in a tax advisory environment.

  • Proven experience across multiple tax heads in a tax or accounting firm, and experience advising private and SME clients

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail

  • Strong planning and organisational skills

  • Solid IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Comfortable with modern software and keen to help us improve how we work

  • A genuine preference for advisory work over compliance
